At 59.3° latitude, Stockholm sees a wide swing between summer and winter — which is exactly what makes planning suhoor and iftar here harder than in lower latitudes. These values are computed astronomically from the city's coordinates and may differ from a mosque timetable by a few minutes.

Above roughly 55° latitude the sun no longer drops 18° below the horizon around midsummer, so Fajr and Isha cannot be defined by the usual angle at all. The times here use the angle-based high-latitude rule, which divides the short night proportionally — the same approach most mosques in Sweden follow.

In 2026, Sweden moves to summer time on 29 March 2026 and returns to standard time on 25 October 2026. On those two mornings every prayer time on this page shifts by an hour on the clock — Fajr in particular can jump from a comfortable hour to an uncomfortable one overnight.

Nothing changes astronomically: the sun keeps the same schedule, only the clock is redefined. Because these times are calculated in Europe/Stockholm rather than a fixed UTC offset, the transition is handled automatically. This is one of the differences between Sweden and Türkiye, which abolished seasonal clock changes in 2016.
